    Where are you all today?

Post by Poggy on 21/1/2016, 21:16

I have just come on to find just ONE post all day!

    Where are you all?
Have you all evacuated for some reason?

I have been ultra busy again today - added to which I had Sophie's parents evening.
That is why I haven't been here.

What exciting things have you all been up to??

I'm having a crappy, stress filled week so am very busy and just miserable and trying not to inflict that on you. Work stuff which I won't bore you with but having a nightmare with too much to. Can't wait for the weekend!

I have been busy at work and in the lab a lot (i.e. away from my desk and computer!). I did log in at lunchtime yesterday to check in, but there wasn't much going on!

I remember the delight of living in a house, after a succession of flats - it was ace!

I definitely feel we need some photos! nod

Congrats on your new home Jen!

Stru that place looks amazing! Making me hanker to go back to Cape Town.

I had a bit of a full on day yesterday, and today for that matter. Nothing in particular but one of those where you don't really stop.

    Stru wins! AGAIN!!
Just look at that photo - absolutely gorgeous!!

Sounds like we are all busy with work and such horrors. unhappy
Smartie - I am so sorry that you are having a horrible time - please do share if you need to get it off your chest.

I am having a horrid time with one particular thing at the moment.
I spent ages doing a booking for a client to Egypt. All great - nice wage out of it!
Fast forward to now and he wants to cancel - I don't really blame him at all, so I sort that out for him. All money earned from previous work done is now ALL GONE.
He is a nice guy, wants to re-book something else BUT it is to go at Easter in just 2 months time and he really is not straightforward and is looking for a multicentre. Everything is booked or incredibly expensive... plus he has a really strict window of time that he can travel.
I have, without a word of exaggeration, spent ALL week looking for an alternative for him. Basically, working for nothing again, until I find him something - then I will finally earn back what I earned in the first place.
PLUS - I have spent so long working on this that one other client asked me to look at something. I took *just* that bit longer getting back to them (having explained how snowed under I am at the moment) with the info - so he booked it online.
So this one booking is actually costing me other bookings.
    It is driving me mad!!!

Anyway - I am off to lunch with Megan now...so ner!!!
    Enough of my whinging!!

I had to prepare chicken breasts with a sauce.detective Now, I used the wrong sauce, I couldn't find the olives I was supposed to put in the sauce, I didn't put the herbs directly onto the chicken breasts: instead they were added after the sauce had been poured over the chicken. Plus, I forgot to add the other veg and the chicken was in the oven 10 minutes too long. HOWEVER, my dad seemed to still like it and didn't know what I was complaining about. Next time, I shall not make these mistakes! gah shake head

Ah Pogster that just sucks, all that work for nothing. There should be a finders fee or some sort of deposit that they don't get back if they cancel or fuck you about. hug

    Oh Candy! lol
It was a case of what could go wrong *did* go wrong! At least it was still edible though, so it can't have tasted too bad!

    Slurps - I know!
I can't blame the guy for cancelling, but it just means so much extra work for me (for nothing).

Anyway, I am back from a lovely lunch and now feel nothing like working.
A small nap would be nice though!! Sleep
