    Post about what you're eating

Post by adora on 20/10/2015, 19:18

I love reading about what other people eat!

Not very exciting here. I bought a few bags of prepared veg in the reduced section yesterday, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions etc. so I've made those into a soup with tinned toms, stock, spices and a few lentils. It's yummy.

I've recently discovered a love of tuna pate, had that for lunch on a few crackers with tomatoes and carrot sticks.

Tonight we are having chicken kievs (my guilty favourite) Rosemary potatoes and Mediterranean veg.

I've developed a taste for chicken liver pate lately Ads High Five

We had ovened sausages with carrot & swede mash, plus gravy. It's good lazy mid-week comfort food!

I'm on a much needed healthy eating/weight loss kick at the moment so mine is not very interesting. I had half a tub of a tomato and balsamic vinegar soup for lunch and then a vegetable stir fry (courgette, carrot, broccoli, mushrooms, mange tout, baby corn, red pepper, spring onion and garlic) with some noodles and soy sauce for dinner. Which is the same as I had yesterday! I'm very bad for eating the same thing for several days in a row as I'm not much of a cook and also am cooking for one and hate wasting food. I need some healthy, low calorie food inspiration!

Nina, your tea sounds lovely yum

I had a roast thing - chucked chopped red onion, aubergine, pepper, olives, baked it for a bit then popped a couple of salmon fillets on top and baked again for 15 mins or so and finished off with parsley salt and pepper. Not bad.

    Wow. That looks good Stru.

We're either having Sicilian fish stew (https://lickingtheplateagain.wordpress.com/2013/03/29/sicilian-style-fish-stew/) almost this recipe but we use chopped tomatoes and put anchovy paste in, oh and no parsley.

Or some cajun spiced salmon with sweetcorn and paprika relish and roast sweet potato.

Made Cullen Skink today so we had bat followed by Spag Bol out the freezer.  Really struggling with meals at the moment as B is so fussy and A, despite normally loving her food, is going through a phase of having a massive tantrum every evening meal unhappy  Makes it really difficult to sit down as a  family to eat

Last night I had beef stir fry with tons of veg and chilli and corriander noodles. Tonight will be a hotch potch as I have stuff to use up - soup, some sea bream fillets and some cauliflower cheese.

Dinner tonight was slow cooked lamb shanks in a red wine sauce with mash. I did a bag of mixed veg just steamed but also had some sprouts to use up so did them in butter with bacon and walnuts.

    Was lovely.

Then For pudding it was just going to be strawberries, but somehow between GC and I it turned into fluffy American pancakes with Nutella and strawberries, how did bat happen? Omg the nigella recipe for American pancakes is incredible though. GC is just scoffing the last one now but with butter and syrip. We are fat bastards.

I did a chilli in the slow cooker today, with a load of extra veg thrown in. Freezing the leftovers so there's something in for when I get back from hols.
